The pro-shop is still closed through spring 2011. To reserve tennis courts, please stop by the unit in the parking lot to visit center staff.

Expansion Project
The Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center will undergo expansion beginning March 1, 2011. This $5,779,028 update is funded through the Coppell Recreation Development Corporation Collection of sales tax. Approximately 11,736of square feet will be added to the center, as well as 23,172 square feet of renovation to the existing building. City Council Meeting
The next regular meeting of the Coppell City Council will be held on Tues., Feb. 22, 2011, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located in Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd. Executive Session (closed to the public) will begin at 6 p.m., followed by Work Session (open to the public) in the First Floor Conference Room in Town Center. Please verify this by reviewing the Council agenda available after 5 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting. Click on the calendar, after 5 p.m., on the Friday before the meeting for a quick link to the agenda.
Regular meetings of the Coppell City Council are aired live on the City's government cable access channel, City Info TV-CiTV (Time Warner channel 16 and Verizon FiOS channel 32). Police Department
National Center for Health Statistics to Conduct Survey
The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is conducting a major study of the health of persons living in the United States. Dallas County has been selected once again as one of the survey locations during the current National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
Personnel from the NCHS will be conducting the survey in Dallas County through April 2011. Interviewers will be calling on designated households throughout the area. Information will be gathered and used to assess the health and nutrition status of children and adults and their needs for health care.

Yes! The standard 1040 Instructions booklets finally arrived! Stop in and pick one up today @ your library.The paper forms are arriving very slowly this year and the forms are made available to the public as soon as they arrive.
T.I.G.
Coppell teens in grades 6 - 12 are invited to join T.I.G. At each T.I.G. meeting teens will be able to help staff plan programming, chat up their favorite books and enjoy free snacks and drinks. T.I.G. meets the third Friday of each month from 4:30- 6 p.m. in the Library Program Room. The next meeting is on Friday, February 18.
Family Board Games @ Your Library
Come join your neighbors on Saturday, February 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. for Family Board Games at the Coppell Public Library. Boomerang Comics will have several fun, new games to try.

Kids Corner
Come join our new book club for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, called Kid's Corner. Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 23 at 3:30 p.m. We will read books aloud and share an activity! Space is limited and registration is required.
Adult Winter Reading Club
Don't wait until the summer to read great books! Adult Winter Reading club is in full swing! Anyone 18 and older can participate in the 2011 Adult Winter Reading Club. Pick up a log at the Coppell Public Library Information Desk. Read any 4 books and submit your log by February 28th for a free book of your choice and a chance to win more prizes!! Up to 3 logs accepted per person.
